Obituary for Donna Mae Vandevegt (Dolejs)

Donna Mae VandeVegt, age 87, formerly of Hastings, MN passed away peacefully at her home in Maple Grove on June 13, 2017. Donna was born February 21, 1930 in Montgomery, MN. She married the love of her life, Bill in 1956. After a year of moving around the states for Bill’s work, they settled in Hastings in 1957. They enjoyed 57 happy years together. Donna spent her life as a loving wife and mother. Her pride and joy was her family and raising her three daughters. She worked a variety of jobs over the years, retiring from the Dakota County Government Center. She loved spending time with family and friends. Survived by daughters, Diane McKane (Barry), Trish Snyder (Brad), June Montgomery (Scott); 8 grandchildren, Mark (Cassie), Dan, Katie, Rob, Carolyn, Tommy, Nicole and Kyle; one great grandchild – Liam; brother, Dale Dolejs (Mary). Preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill; parents, Emma and Emil Dolejs. A very special thank you to Kotoma Smith and Nelly Sowah for the excellent care and love in the recent years. A private funeral mass will be held at Kozlak-Radulovich Chapel in Maple Grove, MN on June 26, 2017. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
