The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Karen Daun can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Karen Mae Daun

DAUN, KAREN M.

October 28, 1923 – October 22, 2017. I planned to live to at least 102 years. As you can see, I did not make it, but I tried my darndest. I was born to Arthur & Elise Midtling and lived most of my life on the North side of Minneapolis. I graduated from the Old North High School and retired as a Police Steno from the MPD. I was preceded in death by my parents; 3 siblings; our beautiful red-headed 2 ½ month old Pamela & my husband, John “Jack”, who patiently put up with me for over 52 years. In 2002, I moved across the river to NE Mpls. to be closer to some of my family (good move!!). Give me a good book, a crossword puzzle and let me see some musical theater (either live or on TV), and I was a happy and contented soul. I loved to travel, having been to Europe several times (Ireland, Italy, Spain, Greece, Austria/Germany) and the Bahamas & Mexico. I am survived by daughter, Gail Jacobsen (Lynn) of California; sons, Phillip Patrick (Nita) & Timothy M. (Diane); four wonderful grandkids, Jonathan Cousins, Amy Campbell (Jay), Tiana Daun & Erik Daun; and two great-grandchildren. I also have some special step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. To all of my kids/spouses and their children, I am so very proud of you all and I love you more than you can ever know. A big thank you to our friends for being there for my family and me. Visitation at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH CHAPEL (1918 University Ave. NE) Friday, October 27th, 2017 from 5-8 PM. Funeral service Saturday, October 28th, 2017 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior also at the funeral home. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Helping Paws, Inc. (P.O. Box 634, Hopkins, MN 55343).

I have been so blessed in this life.

XOXO Mom/Karen
