Obituary for Anne Marie Lundberg (Skirka)

Anne Marie Lundberg (Skirka), age 91, lifetime resident of Minnesota died September 16, 2020. Born April 27, 1929 in Minneapolis. Graduated from Edison High School in NE Mpls.

Preceded in death by husband: Albert, son: Steven, parents: Joseph and Anna Skirka, brothers: Steve (Ella), George (Eleanor), Frank (Ann) and Peter, sisters: Marjorie and Helen.

Survived by daughter: Lisa Ann (Jerry) Neisen, grandsons: Aaron (Raquel) Clark and John Neisen of Minnesota; great-granddaughters: Blakeley and Vida, sister: Eleanor (Gordon) Peterson, many friends and extended family.

As a youth Anne enjoyed Russian Language Classes and singing in the St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral Choir. She began her career in high school at the dime store for $ 0.13 per hour and after high school worked for the Hennepin County Probation Office. After marrying Albert Siegvald Lundberg in 1950 she raised her children, vacationed in Canada, Northern MN, MI, CO, WY and MT. After Albert passed away in 1980 at the young age of 54, Anne went back to school at Hennepin Technical College to study computers. Upon graduation she was hired by the College and worked in the Library for fourteen years until she retired. Anne loved spending time and vacationing with her grandchildren in Mexico, CA and FL. She stayed active and independent throughout her life, in the church welcoming new members, yoga, walking and traveling to Europe. She brought joy and laughter to many and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service at ST. MARY’S ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL 17th Ave. NE & 5th St. Thursday at 11:30 AM with visitation one hour prior. Interment St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to the Cathedral or donor’s choice. Her family would like to thank caregivers and nurses at All Saints Sr. Living and Allina Hospice for their compassionate care over the past year, especially during the pandemic. Due to Covid19 social distancing and masks will be required.
