Obituary for David Dean Holt

Holt, David D., age 81 of Plymouth passed away peacefully on February 10, 2020. Dave grew
up in West Duluth and attended Denfeld High School and the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
After graduating, he moved to the Twin Cities where he began his life-long career in sales. He
spent 42 years working at MotivAction where he sold incentive travel programs. Dave loved to
travel the world with his clients, especially John Deere. He was very proud of his career and his
many sales awards. He made enduring friendships at MotivAction and John Deere and was
especially honored to be part of the “Deere family.”

Dave was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Kay, and his parents, Julius
and Hilda Holt of Duluth. He is survived by his daughters Kristen Flanagan (Bill) of Chanhassen,
Polly Flanigan (Bob) of New York City and Susan Hyvare (Brian) of Plymouth; 10 grandchildren,
Connor (Luke), Max (MinHee), Aimee, Elizabeth, Katherine, Brenden, Jack, Daniel, Robert,
Brigid; and one great grandson Liam; sister Jeanne Berdahl (Jim); niece Amy Olson (Matt) and
nephew Mathew Berdahl (Kara). Dave took tremendous pride in his family, especially his
grandchildren, their spouses, and all their academic, athletic and professional accomplishments.
Dave was a valued member of The Scottish Rite, Zuhrah Shriners and Euclid Lodge No. 198,
Duluth for over 55 years.

Special thanks to the caring staff of N.C. Little Hospice who helped make his last days and
hours painless and peaceful.

Memorial service 10:30am Thursday, 2/20/20 with visitation one hour prior at
KOZLAK-RADULOVICH MAPLE GROVE CHAPEL (13745 Reimer Dr.)
