I first met Mrs. McKusick when I was in 7th grade at Fridley Junior High. The school district had initiated an advanced math program that would start in 7th grade and end in 12th grade with college level calculus. Well, it didn't take long for me to start falling behind the rest of the class. I was looking at six solid years of math and I couldn't get out of the starting gate. Mrs. McKusick told me that if I was willing to commit to the time outside of class to catch up, she was also willing to commit the time. So for several weeks I would head to her class before the school day started and she would give me additional instruction - and patience. I got back on track and was able to complete the entire advanced math series. And when I was accepted into Graduate school, a lot of it was because of my strong showing on the math part of the Graduate admissions test. Thank you Mrs. McKusick!

Thinking of the love within this family this week. Though I did not know Dianne personally, as a good friend to her grandchildren, I've been witness to the overwhelming pride she had in her grandchildren and the love she had for her family. For as long as I've known Lauren and Chris, Dianne was in attendance for every event, tournament, and band concert her grandchildren were a part of. Lauren and my robotics team in middle school used to say that Lauren brought her whole familial squad with her wherever she went. We always needed double check to make sure we had enough chairs prepared in judging sessions for the entire support team. The unending love Dianne showed to her grandchildren is something I saw exemplified at every turn.

Thinking of your beautiful family during this very difficult time of loss. Dianne was a delightful family friend of whom I have many fond memories. From her close friendship with my mom to helping us in pageants and her loyal Fridley pride to helping set Kari
up as our babysitter...she was as kind and genuine as they come and will be deeply missed by my family and many others. Sending love to you all!
