Dolores M. Kelly age 89 of Minneapolis. Dolores spent her last day on earth August 9th comforted by her unwavering faith in God and her belief in the inherit goodness of humanity. Born in 1931 in the depths of the depression, the memory of those challenging times impacted her life to the end: never waste a thing, be grateful for whatever you have, help a neighbor whenever you can and the future will be better. Dolores was a warm and welcoming soul, generous with her time and spirit to care for anyone in need. She was determined to make the world and her community a better place.Fiercely independent, hardworking, and stoic, Dolores never complained when life may have treated her unfairly, especially after her stroke left her blind and wheelchair bound over 5 years ago. Always making new friends, in the end Dolores wanted to be reunited in heaven with her old friends and departed family. She is already there!Dolores was preceded in death by her sisters Margaret, Mary Lou, Louise and brothers Reinhart, John, Herb, Lawrence and Donnie. She is survived by sons Michael (Jennifer). Warren (Chelle Stoner), granddaughters Kristin (Jamal),Madeline (James) great granddaughters Emerson “Emmy” and Sloane and her
sister-in-law Paulette Rosch. A heartfelt thanks to Nancy Lundquist, Gwen Anderson, Trish Flannigan, nurses Betsy, Pam, John, Muna, Sharon, Renata, and the entire 1st floor staff (actuallysaints) of Catholic Eldercare whose loving care made the last mile a little more bearable. A celebration of life Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 20th at OUR LADY OF LOURDES CATHOLIC CHURCH (1 Lourdes Place, Minneapolis, MN). Private interment. Mask requested at church. Memorials preferred to Catholic Eldercare in Minneapolis.
