DUANE JOSEPH NASSER

Age 86 of Columbia Heights, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, Naseralla & Zaka; sisters, Doris Ekrem, Jeanette Raymaker Cokley & Alice Rivard; brother, Thomas Nasser. Survived by loving wife, Elizabeth (Farhet) Nasser; children, Lisa (John) Gleason and their children, MaryBeth (Peter) Mueller, John Gleason, Jr. (Alison Gresback) & Laura Gleason, Laurie Nasser, Bruce (Julie) Nasser and their children, Anthony, Alexander (fiancée, Marian Hitti) & Annamarie Nasser, Karen Rajtar and her children, Nickolas Rajtar (Isabel Ricke), Natalie Rajtar and their father, Steve Rajtar, Paul Nasser (fiancée, Christine Siewert) & his daughter, Katie Nasser; great-grandchildren, David, James, Nickolas, Patrick, Lucy, Chloe & John III; sister, Mamie Lally; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends.

Duane was an active member of St. Maron’s Church & the American Lebanese Club. He was proud of his faith and was a member of the Order of St. Sharbel, National Association of Maronites and received the Knight of St. Gregory award which is the highest layperson award in the Catholic Church. Everyone who met Duane, felt an instant connection with him. He will be remembered for his kind and welcoming spirit, love of his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Liturgy of Resurrection at ST. MARON MARONITE CATHOLIC CHURCH (600 University Ave. NE) Thursday March 25, 2021 at 10 AM with visitation one hour prior. Limited capacity available in overflow space in church hall and services will be live streamed on church Facebook page. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the church.
