Obituary for Eugene Joseph Peterson

Eugene Peterson:
age 98, of Brooklyn Park. Preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Virginia, and grandson Stephen (“Joey”) Snyder. Survived by children: Frank Peterson, Lynne (Stephen Snyder), and Susan (James Pleiss); grandchildren: Kathleen Snyder, Nicole (Josh) Jacobs, and Alexis Pleiss (Jordan Molina); great-grandson Ethan Snyder and great-granddaughter River Jacobs. During World War II he was a sergeant major in the U.S. Marines and received two Purple Hearts, including one for service at Guadalcanal. Gene went to the South Dakota School of Mines and the University of Minnesota. He was a proud, long-term member of Lions Club and 1st Marine Division Association. In his younger days, he liked baseball, golf, fishing, and bowling. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at SACRED HEART POLISH NATIONAL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2114 5th Street NE, Minneapolis, at 2pm on April 29, with a one-hour wake immediately afterwards at the church.
