Frank, age 96, of Columbia Heights. Preceded by brothers: William and Nick Gmiterko. Survived by sisters: Anne Kresa and Elsie VanDyke, sister-in-law: Dorothy Gmiterko, niece and caretaker: Darlene (Lee) Erickson, nieces and nephews: Bruce (Vicky) Kresa, Cindy (Ron) Huber, Linda (Ray) Harvath, William (Joanie) Gmiterko Jr., Greg (Karen) Gmiterko, Terry (Dale) Gmiterko, Dotty Gmiterko, godchild Tim Huber, caring friends: Roz Wood, John Nalipinsky and other great nephews and great nieces. Frank loved animals, football, and NE Minneapolis. He traveled to the Holy Land. He delivered Meals-On-Wheels after he retired from the city and was a generous person. Frank was a Navy veteran during WWII. Funeral services at ST. MARY’S ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL, 17th Ave. NE & 5th Street Wednesday August 18th, 2021, at 11 AM with visitation from 9:30 AM until time of services. Interment with Military Honors at St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Cathedral or Meals-On-Wheels NE.
