Obituary for Gary Warren Leske

LESKE
PhD Gary W., age 75, of Fridley. Gary taught high school agriculture at New Richland, MN. He was an associate professor of Ag Ed at South Dakota State University at Brookings for three years. He finished his teaching career on the St. Paul Campus of the University of MN in Education and the Dept. of Work, Community and Family Ed. He especially enjoyed working with students as the Director of Graduate Studies. He was a member of Alpha Yeta, Gamma Sigma Delta and Alpha Tau Alpha. He is in the State FFA Hall of Fame and was awarded State and National Farmer degrees. He received the Gordon L. Starr award for outstanding Service to Students. Gary was a long time judge at the MN State Fair, especially in the area of Parliamentary procedure. Gary loved his God, his family, his friends, fishing for muskies and football, probably in that order. Christ Lutheran Church benefited by his retirement because he had the time to volunteer and serve in many areas. He enjoyed wood carving in his retirement and became very proficient at it. Memorial service at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH 641 – 89th Ave. NE Saturday at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior. Memorials preferred to the church.
