Obituary for J.D. Louris

Louris, J.D. age 25 of Bloomington, MN, formerly of Richfield, left us too soon on February 25, 2020.

J.D. will be forever missed by his parents, Jon and Lisa; brother and best friend, Sammy; sisters, Anna and Maggie; constant canine companion, Tikka; cherished niece and nephews, Mia, Jack, Sully and Max; grandpa, Jerry Lange; aunts and uncles, Julie (Dale), Jerry, Linda (Mike), Lindsey Louise, LaRayne (Lance); cousins, Christina (Michael), Breanna (Jarrod), Missy, Brian, Jessica, Nick, Andrew and Noah; longtime family friend, Bob Johnson and many friends and co-workers he met over the years.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Louris, Violet Louris and Ruby Lange.

J.D. went to Richfield schools and was a 2012 graduate of Richfield High School, receiving his Associate of Arts from Normandale Community College in 2014 and attending the University of Minnesota before enrolling in the welding program at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, completing his certification in 2018.

He was a very hard worker, always working a job and going to school at the same time. J.D. was fortunate to have the opportunity to work seasonally in high school and college with his dad and brother at Calvary Cemetery in St. Paul. He also worked at Byerly's and Macy's in Edina and TGI Friday's in Bloomington. He was a welder for a time, employed by Miratech, but went back to serving at Willy McCoy's in Bloomington, where he worked the last three years.

He was a voracious reader, learning to read at age five in order to play a Pokémon game on his Game Boy, rather than having his mom read every sentence to him before he could make a move.

J.D. was a huge baseball and football fan and attended both a Saints and Twins game this past year but watched other teams on television.

He supported the Minnesota Vikings and several other football teams. Kurt Warner was a favorite player of his when he was with the St. Louis Rams.

An avid outdoorsman, he liked grouse and deer hunting.

J.D. was a movie aficionado, collecting and studying such classics as The Lord of the Rings series, The Shawshank Redemption, The Usual Suspects and The Boondock Saints.

He had years of German and was recently borrowing CD's to brush up on the language. J.D. was well spoken and articulate and skilled in the English language, paying special attention to spelling and punctuation, even if it was in a text.

He was a scholar of history and had strong political opinions but very much disliked politics.

J.D. was a casual guitarist and accomplished at welding as an art form. If he was interested in something, he became an expert at it.

Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his brother, Sammy, his treasured dog, Tikka and his beloved niece and nephews.

A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate J.D.'s life will be at 11 am Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the KOZLAK-RADULOVICH BLAINE CHAPEL (Highway 65 & 107th Ave. NE) with visitation held one hour prior.

If you have a nice photo of J.D. that you would like to share with his family, please feel free to bring it to the service.

Our J.D. will be remembered for his big warm smile, his handsome hazel eyes, a highly developed sense of humor, acts of kindness and his ability to love large.

Our hearts are broken, we will never be whole. We love you more than you will ever know.

Please no flowers as memorials are preferred.

Dear J.D.,

The world was a better place with you in it. My heart is broken knowing you are not here. You were the sweetest boy who grew up into the sweetest young man. You had a kind heart. I will miss your handsome face, your big sense of humor, your fantastic hugs, and your beautiful voice. I know Grandma Ruby is with you and hugging you for us. I look forward to the day that I see your sweet face again someday in heaven. J.D. thank you for being my precious nephew and for being the wonderful young man that you were. You will be with me in my heart every single day. I love you J.D. I will love you forever J.D.

I am so sorry about the loss of my beloved nephew, JD. The tears do not seem to cease. JD was smart, talented, humorous, and kind. He had a beautiful inside and outside. I attended every Harry Potter movie with him, Sammy, and my kids through the years. They were always the midnight showings as JD and the others would like to see movie goers come in costume. Jess, Nick, Sammy, and JD always played so well together. Video games were quite a thing for a while with the cousins. Pokémon cards were a huge deal as well! I loved JD with all of my heart! I am so sad he has left us. JD will never be forgotten. He made the world a better place.
