Obituary for John C. Sarratori

John Carmen Sarratori, born August 19, 1931 went to his eternal resting place on
September 15th, 2019 with his beloved and devoted wife of 58 years, Geraldine, by his
side. John, otherwise known as Dominic to his close friends and family in his birthplace
of Geneva, NY, was known for his infectious smile and personality. He always had a
story to tell and a witty response for everyone. John was a Navy War Veteran serving his
country during the Korean Conflict. After his days in the service, John lived many places
including Chicago and California before making his lifelong home in North Tonawanda,
NY where he met his wife and started his family. John worked numerous jobs during his
life always wanting to provide the best for his family including selling beer, shoes, owning
and running a gas station and car repair garage, and delivering bread, pies and cakes for
Stroehmann Bros. In 2017 he relocated to Maple Grove, MN to be near his youngest son
and youngest grandchildren. John is survived by his wife Geraldine (nee Kipa), daughter
Marla (Glenn) Lyons of Niagara Falls Ontario, sons Gregory (Kristy) of Tega Cay, SC and
Paul (Jana) of Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren, Joshua, Breanna (David) Cassel,
Christian, children of Marla and Glenn; Gregory, Jr., Joseph and Lyndsey, children of
Gregory and Kristy; and Liliana and Isabella, children of Paul and Jana, one great
grandchild Audrianna, child of Breanna and David; several nieces and nephews. He is
predeceased by his parents Peter and Vincenza (Cocola); brothers Anthony, Joseph,
Peter, Frank, and Salvatore; sisters Jean Barr, Elizabeth Miller, Victoria Matchinski,
Theresa Riley, Mary DeFazio, and Evangeline Siclare. A small service for close friends
and family will be held in his honor on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Lord of Life Church
in Maple Grove, MN beginning with a visitation at 10 am, followed by the service at 11
am, then a luncheon at the Medina Country Club where an Italian Buffet will be served.
In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the charity of one’s choice.
