SMACIARZ, John J. Jr. age 56, of NE Minneapolis, passed away at home on February 25, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, John J. and Ann. Survived by loving wife Cyndy Rae Smaciarz, step-children Sara Kalla and Danny (Amanda) Kalla and their 3 children; brother Richard (Gretchen); sisters, Mary (Robert) Litterman, Theresa Zabawa, and Judy (Bob) Kaczmarek; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Born in Northeast Minneapolis, John had a special zest for life. He lived in and loved NE Minneapolis, especially hanging out with friends at Jimmy’s. He was blessed with many friends who would do anything for each other. He married his high school sweetheart, Cyndy Lubinski, and their favorite pastime was stealing away together, fishing on the Mississippi. Like a true Minnesotan, he loved hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. Very proud 3rd generation employee at N.S.P. (Xcel Energy) Riverside Plant for 35+ years and considered co-workers his family. John developed small cell lung cancer and struggled with his health for the past 3 ½ years. Special thanks to all the doctors and staff that cared for John at M Health Fairview, especially Dr. Kratzke. Services held privately at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH CHAPEL – NE Minneapolis.
