Obituary for Leonard Kirvida

KIRVIDA, LEONARD
Age 92 of St. Paul, passed away April 1, 2021. Leonard was born April 15, 1928 in Gackle, North Dakota. He graduated from “Chi Hi” in Center City, MN & went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota & St. Vladimir’s Seminary. His career began at the Naval Research Lab in Washington D.C., on to Honeywell and eventually he retired from Control Data. Len will be remembered for his love of family, being the best uncle in the world and his adventurous spirit. He enjoyed travelling, farming, skiing and anything cultural. He will be dearly missed. Preceded in death by parents, Boris & Vara; brother, Mitchell Kirvida; sisters, Eugenia Bedard & Viola Korman; niece, Kathleen Korman. Survived by special niece & nephew, Barb Korman & Jim Kirvida; grandnephew, Andrew Korman & grandniece, Anya Korman; nieces & nephews, Sharon Gorton, Cindy Steel, Cheri Ollman, Ginger Fitzgerald, Kevin Kirvida, Pam Thomas, Greg Bedard, Lori Bettschen, Connie Lehr, Craig Kirvida & Brenda McGrath; many other great nieces, nephews & other relatives. Funeral service at ST. MARY’S ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL (17th Ave. NE & 5th St.) Monday, April 5, 2021 at 10 AM with visitation one hour prior. Service will be live streamed on church’s YouTube page. Interment St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Cathedral.
