Obituary for Lorraine "Jobie" Varness

Lorraine “Jobie” Varness

Passed away peacefully November 24 at the age of 96. Born in NE Minneapolis to Anna and Ezydor Job on August 25, 1924. Lorraine, known as “Jobie” to her friends and family, was a long-time employee of Honeywell Corporation. A World War II Veteran, she was known as an independent and fun-loving woman, as well as a faithful parishioner of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church. Lorraine spent many years with her best friend, Mary Burger, traveling the world, gardening, fishing and boating, eventually celebrating their golden years and the good life in Rush City. Lorraine is survived by best friend, Mary Burger, Robert (Kathy) Borries, Marilyn (William) Campbell, William Jr. (Gloria) Job, Merrill (Beverly) Mendenhall, Richard (Judy) Job, several grand and great grandnieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by siblings, Stanley Job, William Job Sr., Edward Job, Josephine Mendenhall, Helen Borries, and nephew, Frank Job. Private inurnment will be at Weaver Lake Cemetery.
