Obituary for Lyle A. Monson
Lyle Arnold Monson, age 79, of Pequot Lakes, MN & Apache Junction, AZ passed away January, 21, 2020 at Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield, MN.
Lyle was born July 17, 1940 in Mentor, MN to Palmer and Hazel Monson. He grew up in Mentor, Minnesota, graduating high school in 1958. He then joined the Navy, where he learned to be an electrician. After the Navy, he went to work at Toro where he met his future bride, LuRae Hood. They were married October 19, 1963. He was an electrician his whole life, starting Monson electric, in Blaine in the early 1980s. Lyle was labor, LuRae was management! He retired in the early 2000s. They moved to Pequot Lakes, Minnesota where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. Summers were spent on the lake in Pequot, and winters were spent in Arizona where he enjoyed golfing with his buddies.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Palmer and Hazel, brothers Duane and Dick, his wife LuRae, and infant daughter Becky.
Lyle is survived by his brothers, David (Carolyn), & Herb (Jo). He is also survived by his four children. Beth (Mike Ziesmer), Brian (Stephanie), Brenda (Shawn Anderson), & Brad (Cari). His grandchildren were the light of his life. He is survived by Tommy and Lauren Ziesmer, Cole & Griffin Monson, Tanner Aaberg (Kailee), Kiera (Jacob Gray), Audrey and Wyatt Anderson and Taylor Anderson and Josie Monson.
A Memorial Service will be held at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH BLAINE CHAPEL (107th Ave. NE & Hwy. 65) on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 3 PM with visitation one hour prior. He will be interred in the spring at the family plot with LuRae and Becky at Morningside in Blaine.
