Obituary for Maria Husak (Dosyn)
Husak, Maria, age 97, of NE Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2020.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband Dmytro; her parents Anna and Dmytro Dosyn; her brothers Franko and Ivan; and her sisters Katrucia and Tonia.
She is survived by loving children; Daniel (Alison) Husak and Daria Husak, grandsons; Alexander and Brian and family in Ukraine.
Maria was born in Stare Misto Pidhaitsi, Ukraine and immigrated to the United Sates with her husband Dmytro in 1949. They settled in NE Minneapolis where they were active members in the Ukrainian community. Maria was a parishioner at St. Constantine Ukrainian Catholic Church where she was a member of the Women’s Guild and a Pyrozhnytsia, the ladies who make pyrohy for sale on Fridays. She was also a member of the Ukrainian Community Center where she volunteered in the kitchen for their many events. Maria worked as a custodian for the Baker Properties/Marsden for nearly 25 years. She will be remembered for her cooking and baking abilities, her skill in Ukrainian embroidery, her strength of character and her beautiful smile.
Visitation at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH CHAPEL 1918 University Ave. NE Friday from 5 to 8 PM with Panachyda at 7 PM. Requiem Divine Liturgy at ST. CONSTANTINE UKRAINIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH 515 University Ave. NE Saturday at 9:30 AM with visitation one-half hour prior. Interment Gethsemane Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St Constantine Church or the Ukrainian-American Community Center 301 NE Main St.
