I feel very very fortunate that I got to know Ron for large portion of my life. As a 12 year old kid I got to hang out with my buddy Dennis in his dad's garage, (Ron's garage)where weekend tire rotations, front wheel alignments and brake jobs on car's took place, as I remember it Ron worked at a Ford garage during the week. The Chevy Nomad car he had sitting on blocks off to the side that we got to start the engine on once, it has a 283 you know! Hanging out in the garage on weekends was a lot of fun for a me being a farm kid transplanted into the suburbs. I remember Ron going on trips to catch Smelt and using a spoon to prepare these tiny fish to meet their fate in hot oil. Ron took us to Elco speedway to watch dirt track races and I even got to go on a canoe trip once, I don't remember much about the canoe part but I remember getting his red Ford truck unstuck for hours into the night. Our paths crossed over and over as we both aged in our lives and Dennis and I raised our family's. I got to work with Ron on a project on Big Sandy lake later in my life. Remember the saying a honest days work for a days pay? well I'll tell you in Ron's world it's a day and a half days work in one day for the for that days pay! The man never stops! Ron's the hardest working guy I ever met and talk about a guy who loves his family through good times and bad through smart times and sad, what a guy. I got to attend an auction or 2 with Ron and I got to see what the auction hype was all about, I totally understand the success of Ebay. I got to spend some time in the boat with Ron as he and I fished for pan fish in the spring season and in the fall season on Big Sandy Lake, people get to learn a lot about each other in a boat. I could type for hours about things I know about or did with Ron but I'll stop here. Its a sad time in my life now with the passing of Ron. I'll miss him and I will never forget him!
