Dayon, Roy George Age 88. Born May 23rd 1929 in Pine Falls , Manitoba Canada to Napoleon and Rose Dayon passed away on March 12, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Napoleon, wife Leona, son Gregory, brothers Charlie, Harold and Edward. Roy is survived by sister Delina Glatzel, daughters Lynn Ritchie (Dennis), Denise Dayon, Renee Dayon and son Christopher (Tania), grandchildren Tracy, Adam, Linnea, Jessica, Jenna, Lisa, Kara and Laurie as well as twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Roy moved to Minnesota at the age of 2 after the death of his father and grew up in Robbinsdale Minnesota. In 1948 he met his wife, Leona while working at Sunshine Biscuit. They married on March 5th 1949 and started their family in Minneapolis. Roy retired from Rye Krisp in 1991 after 24 years. After his retirement Roy and Leona begin travelling the United States with friends and family, often by train. Roy enjoyed painting, fishing, puzzles of any sort, and as an avid photographer, developed his own photos and hand colored them. But his favorite pastime was time with his family. He had wonderful sense of humor, right up to the end. We will all miss his goofy jokes and his winning smile. He will be deeply missed by many. The family would like to thank the staff at Unity Hospital for their care and attention in his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. A celebration of Roy's life will be held at Elsie's Restaurant. 729 Marshall Street NE, Minneapolis on April 5th from 1:00PM to 5:00PM.
