Bednarczyk, Thomas “Tom” E., age 63 of Brooklyn Park passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2022. Tom worked for Banner Engineering Corp. for 27 years. Preceded in death by parents, Bob and Delores. Survived by his loving and caring wife of 30 years, Terri; 12 International students; siblings, Barb (Mike) Carter and Patty (Bill Luckow) Bednarczyk; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Visitation 9:00 AM followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 30, 2022, at CHURCH OF THE ASCENSION (1723 N. Bryant Ave., Minneapolis, MN). Memorials preferred to Sister Kenny Courage Center, Golden Valley, MN.

Those who knew Tom, knew he would offer his best advice, ideas, and something to make you smile, but most of all, you were considered his friend.

Tom worked frequently out of town, and Terri would join him for long weekends in California, Virginia, Toronto, wherever the customer needed him. Sometimes missing the plane back home – darn! San Diego was one of his favorite locations! Another favorite tradition was celebrating their birthdays in March and October by selecting a new Bed & Breakfast location for that weekend.

Tom and Terri enjoyed trying the foods of many cuisines and choosing new and recommended restaurants. By far, his favorite meal was Polish food, pierogi, Kapusta, cabbage rolls and warm bread. Okay, he loved Terri’s egg, ham and cheese breakfast sandwiches best, always made with Love.

Tom and Terri were the proud Minnesota Parents of twelve amazing international high school exchange students. Sunny (South Korea), Yunmi (South Korea), Tony (South Korea), Takaya (Japan) Ana Julia (Brazil), Annabelle (Germany) Tabatha (Ecuador), Mathilde (France), Patricia (Spain), Ayda (Ukraine), Elyse (Belgium), Sydney (Mexico). He was happiest when sharing his vast knowledge of life, music, any other subject, and most of all embarrassing them at the most inappropriate times! He made it a point every year to call each one of them on their birthdays and sing Happy Birthday to them, all verses with various sound effects and wishes for a wonderful day! nobody was prouder of and loved these kids more than Tom, their Minnesota Dad.

A classic car, a GOOD cigar, rocking LOUD music and a long drive on a lovely Minnesota day was one of Tom’s pleasures. Throw in seasonal fishing, deer, duck, goose, pheasant or turkey hunting and he was in his glory. A good day was him waking up from quick a nap to find a chickadee sitting on the gun in his lap. And there was always time for car shows, “Back to the 50’s” and “Iola”. Don’t forget going to the airport to check out the planes and watch them come in and out of MSP Airport.

The last several years presented multiple health challenges for Tom. With fierce determination and a smile on his face he lived every day to its fullest. In remembrance of Tom, please take a moment to appreciate the beauty of each day and the love of family and friends.
