Age 62 of Ann Arbor, Michigan died peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 4th, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, Vasilii and Raisa Kurta. Survived by wife, Yelizaveta; daughter, Leeza Scheglowski, son-in-law: Alex Scheglowski, grandkids; Anthony, Sophia, and Vera.
Vasilii was born in Gorlovka, Ukraine (Soviet Union) in 1958. He was a mathematician (PhD) and worked as an Associate Editor at Mathematical Reviews, American Mathematical Society for the past 20 years. He also personally published over sixty mathematical research papers. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He always enjoyed spending time with his three grandchildren.
Private Funeral Service 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 at St. Mary's (Annunciation) Cemetery Chapel, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Funeral and Burial Service is only for family members.
Flowers can be sent Tuesday morning after 8:30 to St Mary's Orthodox Cathedral Cemetery, 3025 NE Stinson Blvd, St Anthony, MN 55418.
