Obituary for Wesley E. Folkestad
On behalf of our family, we are saddened to share Wesley Edward Folkestad, born December 17, 1954, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes July 29, 2019 in Coon Rapids, MN at the age of 64. Wesley "Wes" will be deeply missed by his loving wife Colleen (Hartley) Folkestad.
Wes also leaves behind son Nathan (Laura) Folkestad and grandson Grant Folkestad; daughter Bonnie (Richie) Winn and granddaughter Hazel Winn; siblings Richard (Colleen) Folkestad, Keith Folkestad, Audrey (Terry) Wellman, Carrie Olson, Debbie Sowada; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Wes is preceded in death by his father Wilfred Folkestad, mother LaVon (Shermer) Sowada and siblings Scott Folkestad, Daniel and Derrell Sowada.
Wes took great pride in being a member of the Painters Union, Local 386. He will be remembered and missed by many friends within this brotherhood.
Everyone who knew Wes knows that he loved to talk and tell a good story; we will all remember his detailed storytelling and playful manner.
His service will be held at 10:30 Monday, August 5, 2019, with visitation one hour prior at Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Chapel, 1385 107th Ave NE, Blaine. In lieu of flowers, contributions to https://www.gofundme.com/wesley-folkestad-memorial-fund appreciated.
