Cook, William G. Jr.

Age 92 of Golden Valley. Preceded by wife, Mary Sodd Cook. Survived by children: Jeffrey Cook, Judy Paul, Barbara (Bob) Paulson and Terry (Jim) Dalton, grandchildren: Parker (Libby Brown) Cook, Ana Paul, Matt, Tim (Missy), Chris and Beth (Elliot Ristow) Paulson, Kyle and Sam Dalton, great-grandson: Carter Paulson. Bill received his BA from St. Thomas and his Masters degree from Minneapolis College of Music in 1952 and thereafter enjoyed a successful career for over 32 years as a much-loved music teacher in the Hopkins Minnesota School District. He left a gift of appreciation for music of many genres to countless students.

Bill was an avid golfer winning several championships in and around the State of Minnesota and a rules official for the Minnesota Golf Association for years. He was devoted to his family and had many friends. Bill and Mary loved to travel, visit friends around the country and in Europe, and always loved to host a lovely gathering at their home in Golden Valley, their cabin in Alexandria and their place in Tucson. Dad/Grandpa was especially proud of his 8 grandkids and always there to support every sporting event, concert, play or any event they were involved in and passed on his love of golf to all.

Visitation at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH CHAPEL 1918 University Ave. NE Sunday from 5-7 PM with Vigil Service (Parastas) at 7 PM. Funeral Service at ST. MARY’S ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL 1701 NE 5th St. Monday at 10 AM with visitation one hour prior. Interment St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St Mary’s Cathedral Choir.
