Obituary for Patricia Eleanor Moriarity (Reis)

Age 68 of Maple Grove, (originally from Strasburg, ND) Preceded in death by parents: Andrew & Rose; brother, Nickie. Survived by loving husband, Tim; daughter, Andrea; granddaughter, Chelsea; sister, Marietta "Tootsie" Brooks; brothers: Andrew (Mona) Reis & Anthony “Les” Reis (Judy Johnson); nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Patty was born and raised in Strasburg, ND. She was very proud of her German heritage and hometown, and loved to go back home to visit family and friends. Visiting with the residents at the Strasburg Care Center and bringing them gifts gave her so much joy. She grew up attending Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, and graduated from St. Ben’s in 1964, where she was a cheerleader. Dancing with Lawrence Welk was one of her favorite childhood memories. Upon graduating she moved to the Twin Cities. She owned and operated a successful (award winning) home business for 17 years, Quality Finish & Engineering. In Dec. 1991, she received an award from GE Plastics for Outstanding Individual Contributions in the Development of TEMIS Technology. Patty took pride in working hard, and had a talent for do-it-yourself projects around her home, amazing everyone with her ambition and tenacity. In the past few years, Patty has faced her health problems, which ultimately took her from us, with courage and grace. She never felt sorry for herself, instead she did her best to reach out to comfort her family and friends. She took one day at a time, trusting her doctors and religious faith. Despite it all, Patty’s sense of humor remained, and her smile never faded. Her generous, upbeat, friendly personality will remain in our memories. Patty will be greatly missed by the family and friends she so dearly loved. She especially loved and adored, with all her heart, her granddaughter, Chelsea. Visitation at Kozlak-Radulovich Maple Grove Chapel (13745 Reimer Dr.) Sunday, July 27th, 2014 from 4-7 PM with Vigil Prayers at 6:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church (7180 Hemlock Lane) Monday, July 28th, 2014 at 10:30 AM with visitation one hour prior. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Strasburg Care Center (409 - 3rd Street South, Strasburg, ND 58573).
