The Journey Home
He arrived
In October when the Autumn breeze
Teases the leaves from sleepy trees
When the sweetness of morning rain
No longer sustains a summer garden
Yet nudging the last flower in vain.
He arrived
Among colors of crimson and gold
Among Oak and Maple leaves
Scattering across an old country road
Under a sleepy sentimental moon
And as the months moved on
Oh too soon…
He left
In February as Winter winds
Travel across frozen fields
Alternating in whispers and roars
Teasing snowflakes into a frenzy
And rustling barren tree branches.
He left
Among colors of white and gray
Sweeping in the dark of night
Shadowing a melancholy moon
While seventy-two times he observed
Nature indeed moves on as we must…
No matter October no matter February
It is love that endures with every season
And for the love of his life, Josie…
He will always warm her hand within his.
Our Condolences, Monta & Dave Becker
