Anastasia N. Craig formerly of Edina, MN and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, passed away peacefully at age 94 on February 8, 2017, in California. She is predeceased by her husband, Henry Craig, and parents Nick and Marie Sowsun. “Auntie Ann,” as she was lovingly called, will be missed by her sister Olga Wasson of California, brother Pat of Burlington, Ontario and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends in the United States, Canada and the Ukraine.

Ann was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, until her marriage in 1948 to Henry Craig of Chicago, IL, settling in Minneapolis, MN. Although Ann had no children, she was extremely generous to many children’s charities.

Anastasia was proud of her Ukrainian heritage. As a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada and the United States, Ann sang in the church choirs from an early age until the time of her death. In Canada, she sang in the Koshetz Choir and the Dnipro Choir of Minneapolis.

Prayers will be sung on Friday, February 17, 2017, at 7 p.m. at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH CHAPEL (1918 University Avenue, NE Minneapolis, MN) with visitation beginning at 5 p.m. Funeral services will take place at ST. MICHAEL'S & ST. GEORGE'S UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHRUCH (505 4th Street NE, MN), at 10 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, 2250 St. Anthony Boulevard NE, Minneapolis, MN. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made in her memory to St. Michael and St. George’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church or a children’s charity of your choice.
