The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jon Ross can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Golf and Fellowship

I worked with Jon at a Lowe's store in Blaine. The job was my sustenance - but a part-time gig for Jon, who was retired. When, in conversation, he discovered that I "kind of" liked golf, he invited me to come join his Monday group at Greenhaven, in Anoka. Jon invited me - not because I was any good at golf - but because he felt I might fit in with his group of friends...... He was sooo right! I was, in fact, a terrible golfer - but I fell into a beautiful fellowship of friends...... Sure, it's great to golf well - but it's far more important to enjoy oneself and the fellowship of your friends, encouraging one another, joking won one another, celebrating one another's successes! With Jon's loss, I feel a certain peace in my life. What I mean is, that all my little daily worries and concerns seem quite minute just now compared to the life that was lived by Jon, and the legacy that he leaves. He not only brought our golf group together (only one of a few such groups he developed), he seemed to live each day with passion and compassion - love of others and love of life. I only speak from a friend's perspective; imagine the man and person you knew as his wife, son or daughter, or grandchild..... I will never enter the beauty of a golf course - or the joy of the game, without Jon in my heart, watching over me, encouraging me, laughing and smiling...
