The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Karla Smith can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Lila (De Kruif) Sietstra
Condolence: Carl & Julie and family,
My sympathy to you in the loss of Karla. I just saw the notice in the Edgerton paper and it really stopped me in my tracks as we were the same age. I fondly recall spending times playing with Karla and staying in your home when I was younger. (I even mentioned it to Mom when Dad was in the Pipestone hospital last December.) I still have a snapshot of the two of us lying next to each other on the floor when we were just a few months old. We hadn't seen each other in many years but I'm sure her bright smile would have been the same! I will be lifting you up in my prayers during this difficult time. May God bless you with peace and hope until you are reunited again one day. Blessed be her memory. Lila
