Nadia, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2014 in Edina, Minnesota surrounded by her loving family and grandchildren. She was born in Orenburg, USSR and lived in Leningrad, Berlin and Reutlingen, Germany. On January 31, 1945 she married her husband, Nikolai, and with their two children immigrated to Chicago, IL. For the last four years she lived with her son and his family in Minneapolis and was a member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral. Nadia was a founding member of Holy Virgin Cathedral in Chicago and was an active member in the church and choir. She made beautiful clergy vestments for most of the East European Churches in Chicago and the United States. Nadia is survived by son, Nick (Christine); daughter, Natalie (Daniel), and son, Peter (Irene); grandchildren: Katie (Sam) Jensen, Ann (Alex) Hildreth, Nikolai, Alexander, Nicholas and Anastasia. Services will be held at HOLY TRINITY MONASTERY (1407 Robinson Road) in Jordanville, NY on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 with Divine Liturgy at 6 AM followed by funeral service. Panikhida Friday, January 2nd, 2015 at 8 PM & Interment at the Monastery Cemetery.
