Obituary for Teresa "Teri" Marie Nelson Hanson
Teresa “Teri” Marie Nelson Hanson, of Ham Lake, MN, age 63, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Teri was born on March 14, 1954 in St. Paul, MN. She was raised in Minneapolis by Roger and Mildred (Millie) Nelson. In 1970 the family moved to Luck, WI. Teri worked for the Hennepin County Hospital and then the University of Minnesota for over 20 years. On October 10, 1981, Teri and Jim were united in marriage. Jim was her one true love. She missed him every day, every moment and is now reunited with him again.
Teri enjoyed traveling, camping, shopping, cooking, pontoon rides with her family and amazing neighborhood friends and most importantly her love of the Beatles. She was extremely creative. Teri carried on with Jim’s collection of pig memorabilia. Her family was incredibly important to Teri. She talked with her mom every day. Her nieces and nephews held a very special place in her heart and she loved to spoil them. It was always a special treat to get a present from Teri since every detail from the card, calligraphy written note and wrapping paper all exuded her love! She was extremely thoughtful, unselfish and always had a smile.
She is preceded by husband James P. Hanson, brother, Kevin John Nelson, mother, Mildred “Millie” Nelson, father, Roger Nelson, in-laws Elmer and Alice Hanson and sister-in-laws Sue Contreras and Pat Nelson. Survived by brothers Mark (Suzi Crownhart) Nelson and Joseph (Rose) Nelson and sister-in-laws Heidi Nelson, Janet Crittenden, Jayne Bursott and Tammy (Rick) Cervenka, many cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Teri will be deeply missed by her family, friends and those whose paths she crossed.
Friends and family are invited to ‘A Celebration of Teri’s Life’ to be held on April 14, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Forest Lake VFW, 556 12th Street SW, Forest Lake, MN 55025, phone: 651-464-6827. Memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association preferred.
